Chania Airport, officially known as Chania International Airport "Ioannis Daskalogiannis" (CHQ), is the second-largest airport on the Greek island of Crete. Located about 14 kilometers east of Chania, on the Akrotiri Peninsula, it serves both domestic and international flights, especially during the summer tourist season. Named after Ioannis Daskalogiannis, a Cretan rebel who fought against Ottoman rule, the airport plays a crucial role in connecting western Crete with major European destinations.
